Making a Difference
The Literacy Pass It On program has been going on for over 18 years and over the years has been able to help promote the importance of education to young people in our society. The Rise Literacy pass It On program has produced an " Education for America " walk-a-thon, Reading is Healthy Book Show, and youth sporting programs to help young people to learn the value of education. Some of the sponsors in helping with these events over the years have been the Coors Brewing Company, Champs Sporting Goods, Pepsi Cola Bottling Company,and E-One Media Group.The Literacy Pass It On program has also distributed dictionaries to students in need of dictionaries, computer software, and other educational instructual material across the country to help enhance students learning experience in our educational system.
The Rise organization has published an educational awareness magazine since 1992 to help make people aware of the importance of a quality education in ones life.
The One Chance program is a Risevision life skill initiative program. In this program, we help young adults create a positive attitude in which they can thrive. Through the arts, we help them learn valuable business skills such as advertising, promotion,film, and music. These contributions give young adults valuable tools to be productive in our society.

Arts and Culture- The Rise organization enhances and sustains excellence in performing and visual arts.
Education-The orgaization supports programs that emphasize students academic achievement, particularly at the K-12 level. The organization also focuses on literacy and efforts to improve the quality and efficiency of educational services.
Family Life-The organization supports programs that work to strengthen families and promote a safe nuturing enviroment for children and youth. Violent prevention initiatives are favored.
Health and Nutrition- The organization supports programs that promote healthy lifestyles in underserved communities and educate individuals in self-care techniques. The organization supports the development and maintenance of domestic and international food distribution systems serving low-income families.
We believe our communities are strengthened by diversity so our programs will empower individuals of diverse backgrounds and gender. Rise organization places particular emphasis on programs that enable the individual to better his or her life such as higher education, adult literacy, life skills, and job readiness training.
